I would like to express my deep gratitude for the joy of being a student of Christian Science. I am a third-generation Christian Scientist and can testify to the healing efficacy of this practical religion. The study of Science has brought me a better sense of health, supply, and employment. One of the things that Christian Science has given me for which I am most grateful is the wonderful understanding of the Bible and how to apply its teachings to daily life.

I can testify to the healing of many physical ailments for me and my family, such as colds, influenza, sprained ankles, ringworm, impetigo, effects of a sting by a Portuguese man-of-war, grief, and other maladies. Also, great spiritual growth, manifest in increased patience and willingness to obey God, has been among the rewards of being a student of Christian Science. These words from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy have been demonstrated many times in my experience (p. vii): "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings."

Some years ago, several unsightly growths appeared on one of my fingers. I became very self-conscious about the condition and decided to face the situation through prayer. I daily studied the Bible and Science and Health, and I prayed to understand more fully that God, Spirit, Love, is the only true substance and reality.
