Believing in God
Anselm, Aquinas, Spinoza, Royce. A few among many who developed theological and philosophical proofs for the existence of God.
But there are also arguments against such proofs—and thousands of refinements and variations.
Studying the history of philosophy, you could despair that no one is qualified to believe in God until he or she has fully considered all the intellectual reasons against doing so. Of course such a conclusion would in itself raise some pretty interesting questions.
