Morning choices
Whose day is this? What is its promise?
As I rise today
Do I see myself as limited by circumstances, subject to the vagaries or aimlessness of "just another mortal day"? Or do I see myself as the child of God, as Life's idea—in the constancy of Love, calm and assured of Mind's direction?
Will I watch and listen today for Christ, Truth, which is always revealing more of the kingdom within? If so, will I expect the light of Truth to be ushered in with lightning flashes and thundering voices from above? Or can I recognize the Comforter speaking to me, softly, through each small-but-eventful spiritual discovery, through the firm-but-gentle "chastisements of Love," Science and Health, p. 323. The full sentence reads, "Through the wholesome chastisements of Love, we are helped onward in the march towards righteousness, peace, and purity, which are the landmarks of Science." to use Mrs. Eddy's words, prodding me upward?
