Strength for the moment
The river was narrow and deep
As I journeyed upstream alone;
Swift currents churned strong and threatened
Each stroke in the dark unknown.
The sky seemed to say, "Turn back!"
Water roared with distrust, doubt, and fear;
But yet my heart gently whispered,
"Continue ... peace is so near."
And it was so!
The sweet-ebbed pools of Meribah
Quietly touched the shore,
As I basked in the warmth of the moment—
Then dug in my oars once more.
