I have been a Christian Scientist all my life, and during all these years I have been blessed with many, many proofs of the healing power of God.

The first healing I recall occurred when I was about four years old. I was trying to lift the heavy tongue of a farm wagon when it fell, causing a very painful injury. After comforting me, my mother telephoned a nearby rancher, who was a Christian Scientist, for prayerful help. Before she finished speaking with him, the pain stopped and never returned. I was quickly healed.

Healings of so-called childhood diseases, apparent broken bones, scalp wounds, grief, clubfoot, and the effects of an apparent stroke are among many that have occurred in three generations of our family.
