For children
God is with us
When I was three and a half I lived in a country grocery store. The house part was built onto the back of the store. I liked to stand on a high chair behind the counter when my mother waited on customers. Then I could see the people Mother was waiting on and talk to them.
One morning I woke with a sore on my head. It hurt when my mother went to comb my hair. Mother was studying Christian Science and I was attending Sunday School. So right then she talked to me about how God had made everything good. Including me, because I was His child. So was everyone, really But a couple of days later I had one of these sores on my face. I was standing by Mother in the store when a lady we both knew came in. She smiled at Mother and spoke to her, then smiled at me and said, "Good morning, Snooky."
But then she scowled and said to Mother, "Snooky has impetigo on her face. It will spread and it can leave scars. You had better get her to a doctor and do it quickly."
