My favorite family
God is over all. He alone is our origin, aim, and being. The real man is not of the dust, nor is he ever created through the flesh; for his father and mother are the one Spirit, and his brethren are all the children of one parent, the eternal good.
Mrs. Eddy, Retrospection and Introspection, page 22.
MY grandpa used to say, "Of all my wife's relations, I love myself best," and everyone would chuckle even though we'd all heard him say it a hundred times. The real point was that of all the relatives—uncles and cousins and parents and inlaws and children—it was Grandpa himself who was loved the best. Even after he stopped going to business and spent hours telling stories you already had heard over and over, you didn't mind because it pleased Grandpa to pretend you hadn't heard it all before.
