Christian Science has shown me the truth of God. We have had many healings in our home; there is space to relate but a few.

One time our daughter, when she was about five years old, had a rash on her face. Her grandmother, who was not a Christian Scientist, insisted I use a salve. Not being too well grounded in Christian Science at that time, I did as my mother-in-law wanted. However, after several days of applying the salve, the rash was just the same. I stopped using the ointment, and began praying in earnest, maintaining that this child was in truth God's image and likeness and, therefore, flawless. I stayed with this spiritual fact, and a few days later the rash was entirely gone.

Our other daughter once had a serious infection in her leg. A Christian Science practitioner gave us help through prayer at the time. At one point our daughter became delirious. I sat by her bed and spoke to her of her innate purity and perfection as the child of God until she was able to pray with me. Along with the practitioner, we prayed until we knew with certainty this girl's perfection as God's own child. There was improvement from that time on. A week from the onset of the difficulty, our daughter was back at school. The slight mark on her leg that remained disappeared completely in a few weeks.
