"The time approaches when..."
What sort of time would you say we are living in? A more or less placid, interim time between great events? It's a feeling many share.
But the fact is that people living through an epoch later considered hugely significant often haven't realized the extent to which they've been living in historic times.
If we're aware of a historic turning point, it can make us want to work a lot harder for the common good. And if we face the fires of challenging times straightforwardly, they can serve to burn up personal indulgence and worldly presumption. The result can be purification, greater spirituality, more unity.
