Over two years ago two large bare spots appeared on my head
Over two years ago two large bare spots appeared on my head. This was a terrific shock to me because of pride of appearance and also fear of disease. Immediately I called a Christian Science practitioner, who agreed to pray for me. Soon I lost the fear that I might have a disease. But I still needed more prayerful help, as I was doubtful that my hair would grow again. I stopped going to beauty parlors because the beauticians usually suggested I seek medical advice.
As I continued with my study of Christian Science, I found more and more spiritual truths to work with, and I released the practitioner. We had been working with the idea of completeness; I felt happy with the work we had begun and I felt stimulated by the challenge.
After about six months, however, I awoke to the fact that there was no evidence of healing. During that time, with the use of hats, berets, and hair ribbons, I had managed to make the condition less noticeable. Also, I had spoken of it to no one, even my children, though they and others must have observed the difficulty. Now I felt a renewed sense of concern and a need for fresh inspiration. It wasn't right to simply put up with the trouble.
