In sharing this testimony I hope to encourage others to be steadfast in their efforts to find healing through Christian Science. As I have been a Christian Scientist all my life, I have always relied on it for healing and have found that all kinds of difficulties can be healed.
When I became pregnant with our first child, I prayed daily for the well-being of the baby and to understand better the true nature of the child as a spiritual idea of God. About two weeks before the delivery, the attending doctor told us complications would make the birth quite difficult for me and the baby. Later, during the delivery the doctor said neither of us would live, but my husband and family immediately turned to God in prayer to realize that our lives were spiritually intact and governed by God. A healthy baby girl was born, and she has since grown to be an active young woman.
Although I was grateful for this example of God's power, I felt that I needed to gain a more certain sense of God's pure love for me as His child. A better understanding of God resulted and enabled me to see more clearly His spiritual and infinite nature.
