In a testimony published in The Christian Science Journal several years ago, I expressed gratitude for the number of times Christian Science had enabled me to solve problems connected with home and supply. When new living quarters were needed, I was especially grateful that in each case the home provided for me also included whatever animals I had at the time. This was to me a valued proof of God's omnipotent and loving care of all His ideas. Also, during these challenging times of transition, there was particular cause for gratitude for the support and practical help supplied by church members, friends, and acquaintances.
At one point when I was in need of a home, I was living in a residential post and my furniture was in storage. Owing to governmental restrictions in force at the time, accommodations to rent were largely unavailable, yet I was not in a position to buy. After searching the advertisement columns in vain, I decided to give up human seeking and leave the matter in God's hands, knowing that "hitherto hath the Lord helped us" (I Sam. 7:12). Within a few weeks I was happily and gratefully installed in a spacious, comfortable flat at an unusually low rent, which I was well able to afford.
As my new home was situated at a considerable distance from my former position, I now needed fresh employment. I was soon led to a suitable place a short distance away. This new work involved quite a bit of activity. I was able to continue in it with strength and energy for many years after the normal age for retirement, until the sale of the house in which I lived necessitated a move to another area. Since my income from outside employment has ceased, money has come in various unexpected ways, and all my needs are supplied.
