How I always enjoy the testimonies of healing...
"Thus saith the Lord, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: but let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord" (Jer. 9:23, 24).
How I always enjoy the testimonies of healing in the Christian Science periodicals! They reflect gratitude toward God and present proof of the efficacy of Christian Science. This gratitude is why I submit the following account.
As a child I had almost every so-called childhood disease and was taken to the hospital on several occasions because of what were considered life-threatening illnesses. To me, therefore, it borders on the miraculous that I survived the Second World War on the Eastern Front—especially during the winter of 1942 with its extreme temperatures, ice and snow, and lack of adequate clothing, food, or sleep. All the while we were under constant attack. I also was mercifully saved from indulging in immoral behavior. During this time, my loved ones prayed fervently for me.
