My mother, widowed in World War I, enrolled me at the age of five in a Christian Science Sunday School—an action that benefited me throughout my education, which later included membership in a Christian Science organization at a university. Blessings have never ceased to flow from these beginnings, not the least of which was freedom from smoking and alcohol use.

I later joined The Mother Church and, after World War II, served in most capacities in the Christian Science Society (which later became a branch church) near my home, where I was a member.

The understanding I have gained through Christian Science has proved to me that this teaching is the truth taught by Christ Jesus. Today in my "retirement" I am as busy as ever. My activities are concerned with international economic policy research and education. They include interesting and frequent travel, and the work is having rewarding consequences. I have the privilege of meeting remarkable people the world over and I attribute this harmony I now enjoy to Christian Science.
