I would like to express gratitude for a healing of defective eyesight that took place several years ago. On my first visit to the United States I found Christian Science and with it a new understanding of God, divine Life. Science changed my whole outlook. I learned that the real man is not condemned to suffering or to limitation.

At the time of that visit, I had to wear glasses to read and later on to drive. In studying the Bible Lesson (outlined in the Christian Science Quarterly), I gained an understanding of true vision as spiritual. The Glossary of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy gives a definition of eyes, which begins (p. 586): "Spiritual discernment,—not material but mental."

One day it occurred to me that following the logic of what I was learning in Christian Science, I should not require glasses to see clearly. And so it was that as I was discovering more of God and man made in His image through study of the Bible and Science and Health, the truths I was learning opened the way for my healing of defective vision.
