FOR CHILDREN
No dark places anywhere
Once some sunbeams got to talking together.
One of them said, "I'm tired of being
a sunbeam. Let's all stop shining."
Then the silly little things looked around
for dark places to hide in.
But wherever they looked there was light.
They couldn't find a dark place anywhere
to stop shining in.
So in spite of themselves, the sunbeams
had to keep on shining
and finally they decided they really did
like shining because it was the thing
they did most naturally.
The sun laughed all the while, and said,
"I'm glad my sunbeams are so bright
and happy to be what they already are!"
Sarah V. Cornelius
Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
I Thessalonians 5:5
