My first published testimony appeared in The Christian Science Journal...
My first published testimony appeared in The Christian Science Journal in 1954. Since then I have had many testing times and as many wonderful proofs of God's loving care.
In 1955 I discovered a hard internal lump in my lower abdomen. At times there was pain, and at first I was fearful. I went to a Christian Science practitioner and requested prayerful help. Loving support was given me. After a short time, when I had lost my fear of the condition and had learned not to watch for changes in the physical evidence as proof of spiritual progress, I felt I could pray effectively on my own. I never knew when this condition disappeared. But I have felt ever since that it was through my earnest efforts to study thoroughly the Bible Lesson outlined in the Christian Science Quarterly each week that brought about the healing. The condition has not reappeared.
I have always been grateful for a quick healing, some years ago, of an injury. I was in another country, participating in an eight-day tour. (The tour was focused on archeological ruins and involved much walking and climbing.) In a dark hotel corridor I missed seeing a step, stumbled, and fell heavily, injuring one ankle severely.
