Daysong
When gray despair clouds over dawn,
daysong and sun not come,
what can be done?
When holiest hopes appear now gone,
waylaid beyond so long,
what can be done?
Reach from deepest stillness: listen.
Hear Love respond, "My son."
And then go on.
Go knowing Soul's true likeness shines
in you through Christ: God and man
forever one!
Never deferred, today God's sons
see perfection, each one
His reflection.
The Master's pattern leads you on
till evil's lies are gone,
and Christ is come.
Let every heart pick up your song
and, mankind blessed, sing on
with victory won!
