Christian Science has brought me much joy, comfort, and healing

Christian Science has brought me much joy, comfort, and healing. It has been a wonderful help through the years when we were raising a family, especially when my husband was working away from home. The first summer he was away doing fieldwork, he came home for only one weekend in the middle of the summer. On that weekend I was suddenly struck with feelings of resentment and alienation over being left alone so much of the time.

I turned to my copy of Miscellaneous Writings by Mrs. Eddy, and my eyes fell on the article entitled "Angels." Speaking of occasions when angels visit us, Mrs. Eddy writes (p. 306): "Oh, may you feel this touch,—it is not the clasping of hands, nor a loved person present; it is more than this: it is a spiritual idea that lights your path!" And later she says (p. 307): "What a glorious inheritance is given to us through the understanding of omnipresent Love! More we cannot ask: more we do not want: more we cannot have. This sweet assurance is the 'Peace, be still' to all human fears, to suffering of every sort."

Reading these statements removed the negative feelings immediately. Only one other time did I have a similar problem on my husband's return from a trip, and that was quickly met with the prayers of a Christian Science practitioner. How thankful I was for that freedom.
