God's help—here and now
The power of God isn't something to hope for in the future or under special circumstances. It is already here.
It is sad to see people who need God's help, and who could have it, trying to get along without it. Some people feel that God's assistance isn't available to all. Some believe that there are difficulties that even God can't resolve. Others believe divine help would be possible only if the man Jesus were physically on earth. They feel that Jesus would have to be present for physical healings like those in the Bible to occur.
But what do Christ Jesus' own teachings disclose about divine help? Didn't he say, "Behold, the kingdom of God is within you"? Luke 17:21. When he was approached by someone in need, he did not put that person off until a future time in paradise. Instead, the Master healed the receptive seeker right then and there. And no more today does Christ—the ever-present Truth, which Jesus exemplified—ignore those who yearn for health and freedom.
Christian Science explains to any sincere seeker that it is unnecessary for one to wait for an afterlife before he experiences peace of mind, normal health, happiness, since we are all actually God's own children now, continuously held in His dear love. A friend of mine proved just how all-encompassing and practical this love is when through prayer she was permanently healed of migraine headaches.
