The reign of good
To consider who or what is reigning is of great importance. When contemplating the word reign, one might tend to think of it as the exercise of controlling or governing force. This, of course, is what reigning means in the human realm; and it also rightly defines what God, divine Principle, is forever doing in the realm of Spirit, since He is always controlling or governing every idea in creation.
Another meaning for reign is "to prevail irresistibly." And it certainly is heartening to realize that although human governments may rise and fall, God, divine Truth and Love, is prevailing even when evil claims to have usurped the divine sovereignty.
In human experience it sometimes seems as if evil is the prevailing factor and that God's reign of harmony has come to an end; but this can never be true, since not only is God's reign, or the power of good, irresistible, it's also continuous, eternal. As the Psalmist said, "Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and thy dominion endureth throughout all generations." Ps. 145:13. Unlike the reign of a human monarch, which is only for a limited period of time, the reign of God, or good, is without beginning or end—not for a moment subject to interruption or interference of any kind.
