One morning at school, I had woodworking class
One morning at school, I had woodworking class. The woodwork benches were balanced on top of each other, and the girls were taking them down. One slipped out of a girl's hands and fell hard against my leg. At first I thought that my leg might be broken. It wasn't, but it hurt badly. A friend called my brother, who called our dad. (Mother was at her art lesson.) While I was in the sickroom, I remembered what I had learned at the Christian Science Sunday School I attended. I remembered "God's telephone number"—Isaiah 65:24. It says, "And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear." I knew that God was in control.
Two hours later my dad came to fetch me and took me home. Once we were there, for a few minutes I lay on the couch. Then I wanted to see my silkworms. So I got up. I was able to walk fine, and I skipped for joy!
