Safety is in spiritual preparation
Often when the sun shines we do not feel the need to be close to God. Then, when the storms come, we do not know how to reach out for His help. But a continual closeness to God provides the answers we need when storms arise.
The Biblical story of Noah provides an example of this spiritual preparedness. When evil seemed so rampant as to bring a flood upon the people, Noah's righteousness, his spiritual strength and understanding, enabled him to withstand the flood. See Gen., chaps. 6–8 . He followed with unswerving faith the spiritual direction to build a boat.
Like Noah, we all have access to spiritual direction, for God, Mind, governs our activities; but the need is to understand God and so avail ourselves of His good ever flowing to us. We often do not heed spiritual direction and intuition because of our ignorance of God. We may even ridicule those who do.
