Living love heals

In one of her classes, Mary Baker Eddy, who discovered and founded Christian Science, asked her students, "What is the best way to do instantaneous healing?" After listening to their replies, she gave this answer, as one of her students recalls: "I will tell you the way to do it. It is to love! Just live love—be it—love, love, love. Do not know anything but Love. Be all love. There is nothing else. That will do the work. It will heal everything; it will raise the dead. Be nothing but love." We Knew Mary Baker Eddy (Boston: The Christian Science Publishing Society, 1979), p. 134 .

What a wonderful goal to set for ourselves! To love, to live love so thoroughly that those around us feel that love and are healed.

An example of this healing love stands out in my thought. I had gone to an accredited Christian Science rest home as a patient. The morning after my arrival, in addition to the physical problem I was there for, I had a headache. I told no one about it, but was studying in my room when one of the nurses came in. She asked if I would like to see the sun room, a room which had reference books and was a study room for the patients.
