FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
Prayer breaks communication barriers
A young woman felt she wasn't communicating very well with her parents. She wanted to feel closer to them. One night she wholeheartedly turned to God and prayed to learn how she could love more. And that night she began to understand how obedience to God, loving Him above all, brings blessing to family relationships.
Through her study of Christian Science she had been learning that God is both Father and Mother. But she had still been believing that she could be separated from Love. Now as she prayed, the spiritual facts became clear. Never could she be separated from infinite Love. Her Father-Mother God was with her at that very moment, and had always been the source of all good and all love.
Her need was to acknowledge God as the source of joy, abundance, and satisfaction. She began to feel that the more she understood God as her protecting, guiding Father, the freer the communication would be with her dad. The more she understood God as the tender, caring Mother, the richer the relationship with her mom would be. Loving God with all her heart included placing all human relationships under His jurisdiction. Inevitably this would bring more harmony to her time with her family.
