I had a wonderful healing in Christian Science when I was fifteen years old

CELIA STORY

I had a wonderful healing in Christian Science when I was fifteen years old. At the time I had been bothered with indigestion for a few years. I was always afraid of possible ill effects from eating. The slightest taste of certain foods seemed to set an attack in motion. The discomfort would then last for some hours. During those years I was given many material remedies, but none of them afforded me relief.

My mother, dad, and I lived on a cattle ranch. Our house was so far from the school-bus line that I had to stay with a family friend during the school week. This friend had been a Christian Scientist all her life.

One morning just before time for the school bus to arrive, I felt an attack of indigestion coming on. I told the friend that I would not be able to go to school. Responding to my need, she quietly but firmly told me to go into a room alone and to ponder the sentence "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mrs. Eddy, p. 494).
