Four years ago my job required that I travel to Africa four or five times a year. On the last day of one of my trips, a series of events took place that helped me understand better how the law of God protects us.
I was in my room, studying the Bible Lesson (outlined in the Christian Science Quarterly) when my co-worker called and suggested that I accompany her on a short trip to visit a friend in another city. While we were driving on the outskirts of the city, we crested a hill rather fast. Suddenly a truck came toward us from a road on the right. Instantly I put all my trust in God and felt no fear. My study of Christian Science that day had helped me to understand that God is Love, and that regardless of the material sense testimony, He is constantly present and caring for us.
The truck hit our car, damaging it so severely that it could not be repaired. The force of the impact caused my face to strike the rearview mirror, the windshield, and the dashboard. And I was taken from the car in a dazed state. I was the only one who had been injured in the accident.
