Although I have had many healings in Christian Science, the following two stand out to me because, to my way of thinking, there is no way they could be attributed to anything other than Science.
Over a number of years from time to time I experienced extremely painful leg cramps. Whenever they occurred I clung to spiritual truths from the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I was helped by such statements as this one (p. 113): "There is no pain in Truth, and no truth in pain . . . ." I also pondered the fact that matter is sensationless. Finally one day I received conclusive proof of the truths I had been considering. Although the muscles were as tightly knotted as they had ever been, there was not a vestige of pain because I was no longer afraid that matter could be painful. The muscles soon became normal, and I have not had a leg cramp since.
Another healing took place as follows. For quite some time four of my toes had corns on them. One day as I was walking, my shoes rubbed the corns so painfully that I began praying with "the scientific statement of being" on page 468 of Science and Health. It concludes: "Spirit is God, and man is His image and likeness. Therefore man is not material; he is spiritual."
