Shielded by gratitude
Have you ever considered what an effective shield the power of gratitude can be?
Most of us are grateful for the good and pleasant things that come our way through the years, but the deepest gratitude flows out from a thankfulness to God for His allness and goodness. And this is the gratitude that acts as a protecting shield.
In the Bible the Psalmist says, "Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name." And he adds the reason for being grateful: "For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations." Ps. 100:4, 5.
