Coming home
Have you ever been far from home for an extended period and then returned? It can be a wonderful experience, filling one's heart with love and gratitude. It seems there could be no greater joy on earth.
But sometimes the peace and harmony of a homecoming are interrupted. Unkindness, selfishness, even jealousy, would rule the roost. What can one do when the joys of home seem threatened? How can one pray for unity rather then participate in division or destruction?
Prayer in Christian Science is based on the spiritual truth that God is the source of all good. He is our Father-Mother, who provides for all, who blesses and comforts everyone, everywhere. With this understanding of Him, one learns to pray sincerely to God and to trust the spiritual guidance that accompanies prayer. Through prayer and study of the Bible and of the writings of Mrs. Eddy, which illumine the Bible's healing message, one is lifted to a different view of reality. The limited, depleting sense of good begins to fall away, and an unlimited, spiritual sense of good stands out—good ever available and ever present. This prayer—based on God's, Spirit's, allness—brings healing to home relations.
