God's care for us is unfailing, constant
God's care for us is unfailing, constant. He cares for us even when we feel unable to pray. I've had convincing proof of this fact, and I share it in the hope that others who may now feel helpless or vulnerable will be encouraged.
A number of years ago, while a friend and I were returning by car to our college campus after a semester break, I began suffering with severe symptoms of appendicitis. Some minor discomfort had appeared a few days before we left, but I'd improved enough that it seemed right to leave for school. About midpoint in our trip (three or three and a half hours after we'd left home), I became unable to move or think or even pray for myself. My friend, also a Christian Scientist, continued to drive and, I'm certain, to pray as best he could about the situation.
Ours was a college for Christian Scientists, so on arrival I was immediately taken to the care facility on campus, where a Christian Science nurse attended me. My mother was called, came to be with me, and asked a local Christian Science practitioner to take the case.
