When I was in the third grade, Christian Science was presented...
When I was in the third grade, Christian Science was presented to my parents by a kind aunt. There was discord in our family at that time, and, needless to say, our learning that God is loving and that man is made in His likeness restored harmony to our home. I was greatly impressed by this change and knew that something wonderful had taken place.
Shortly thereafter, before I had been enrolled in a Christian Science Sunday School, I found myself alone in the house during a severe thunder and lightning storm. I was not allowed to turn on the gaslights and was very frightened. But I knew that reading Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy had brought peace to our home before, so I turned to it then for help. Sitting by a window, I let the book fall open where it would. Some of the words I saw didn't mean anything to me. But when I read the following on page 410, I was immediately relieved of my fear of storms and darkness: "Every trial of our faith in God makes us stronger. The more difficult seems the material condition to be overcome by Spirit, the stronger should be our faith and the purer our love. The Apostle John says: 'There is no fear in Love, but perfect Love casteth out fear. ... He that feareth is not made perfect in Love.' Here is a definite and inspired proclamation of Christian Science." I was healed of the fear in that moment. This victory has been a source of help to me ever since, for which I am most grateful.
Through the years I have experienced many healings. I hope the following demonstration will be helpful to others.
