The kindly way, the healing way
The kindly way—the tender, compassionate way—is the healing way of Christian Science. "Love is the liberator," Science and Health, p. 225. Mrs. Eddy writes in Science and Health. Her writings explain in detail how the spirit of Love, when it is lived, brings healing to mankind.
The essence of Christian Science healing is love. Christ Jesus supremely illustrated the loving, healing way of life. By observing how Jesus lived—and striving to emulate him—we can learn how to heal as he healed.
A specific example of the Master's healing method is given in Matthew's Gospel. We're told that when Jesus came down from the hillside after giving the remarkable teaching we know today as the Sermon on the Mount, he was met by a man plagued with leprosy. The leprous man said to him, "Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean." Jesus' response was to reach out and touch the man, saying, "I will; be thou clean."
