The spiritual method of healing—and compassion

Christian Science is a religion of love. Its origin is in God, divine Principle, Love. Compassion for those who are struggling to overcome sickness and disease is at the very heart of Christian Science.

This is why the manner and tone in which Christian Scientists uphold the spiritual method of healing through reliance on God alone is so important. It's especially important if we are to be of any help to a friend or relative currently having medical treatment.

While Christian Science healing and medical treatment are totally opposite standpoints from which to approach the question of health, still a Christian Scientist can do much to bring the compassion of the healing Christ to those who are afraid to trust wholly in God's healing power. This compassion is exemplified in Mrs. Eddy's words in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, "No power can withstand divine Love." Science and Health, p. 224.
