As a lifelong Christian Scientist, I have had many proofs of God's omnipresence and of His love for His creation. One such instance occurred several years ago.

Severe nosebleeds had been a problem off and on over a period of several months. One night about midnight profuse bleeding began and continued for several hours. Although I had been praying earnestly and affirming every spiritual truth that I knew, there was no apparent change.

Over and over I reminded myself that the Bible tells us (Job 33:4), "The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life." And I pondered these words on page 475 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy: "Man is not matter; he is not made up of brain, blood, bones, and other material elements. The Scriptures inform us that man is made in the image and likeness of God." Also meaningful was Hymn No. 382 in the Christian Science Hymnal, which begins, "What is thy birthright, man, / Child of the perfect One ...?" I knew my reason for existence was to glorify God.
