Seeking a change?
Thousands can testify that Christian Science has redeemed them and met their needs for healing, suitable companionship, a more satisfying home or job. The Bible makes plain the certainty with which the power of God, acting through His Christ, Truth, stirs and improves human lives. Speaking of God's control over the very earth and heavens, the Psalmist said, "As a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed." Ps. 102:26.
Such is the healing effect of divinity in human experience. But divinity itself is unchanging, eternal. The Bible contains God's emphatic revelation of divine fixity. In Malachi we read, "I am the Lord, I change not." Mal. 3:6. Since God, immortal Spirit, is changeless, His likeness, immortal and spiritual man, must be changeless also. Are we aware that Godlike man, God's own beloved ideal, is our real and only true identity? That we really express the changeless perfection and immortality of Soul?
When we pray, scientifically acknowledging truth, and live in accord with our prayers, disease and discord disappear like the dreams they are. We spiritually wake to realize that as God's children we express health that never varies, joy that can't fade—indeed, all that God, infinite good, gives. This spiritual awakening is the change brought about by true understanding; and in this awakening we find that we are morally and spiritually as well as bodily whole.
