My mother was introduced to Christian Science...
My mother was introduced to Christian Science over forty-five years ago by a next-door neighbor, who lovingly told my mother of this religion at the time of my grandfather's passing. How thankful our family has been for this "cup of cold water," given so freely and accepted so eagerly. It has blessed and continues to bless us through three generations.
As a pupil enrolled in the Christian Science Sunday School, I grew into an understanding of God that enabled me to apply spiritual truths to my daily experience. Through good and bad times, the study and practice of this Science have sustained me and have become my way of life.
There have been so many healings—some have occurred instantaneously and others have come through much prayer and persistence. How true are these words in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy (p. 66): "Trials are proofs of God's care. ... Each successive stage of experience unfolds new views of divine goodness and love."
