Morning prayer
Father, I'm coming to You
prodigal again—
hungry for what You have and
tired of what I thought
would satisfy.
I'm coming to You again
because I need Your uncondemning love,
Your sweet assurance of my innocence.
I know You're here expecting me
and so I'm coming
eagerly this time.
I thought that when I'd got my portion
You had given me all I could receive.
But now
I see You still have riches for me—
that my portion is the undivided wealth
of goodness, purity, humility, and love.
Father, let me earn these riches
serving You.
