Shalom
How shall I pray to understand true peace—
the peace which passeth understanding?
Peace transcending human stillness
(albeit stillness is one token on the way).
This peace I yearn for is much deeper;
intuitively I feel its gentle strength,
which yields at once to angel's innocent touch
yet stands immovable to evil's sternest charge.
This gracious heartsease permeates my being
suffusing all with comfort's healing balm,
transforming and uplifting suffering sense,
releasing error's grip with Christly calm.
This is my peace, this joy of victory won,
its swelling diapason heaven-sent.
