Christmas treasure—investment for the future
Often we consider a Christmas treasure to be an object or memento that we carefully bring out from its storage place just during the holidays. We appreciate its beauty and all that it means to us, then we gently put it away again.
For many the life of Christ Jesus is a treasure. Each Christmas the religious observances of his birth remind people of the holy blessings that God brought to humanity through Jesus' life. But this treasure is not something we should ever put away, for it's not meant just to be admired. It should be invested, put to use.
A good investment is said to be something that increases in value over the years and provides security for one's future. And as the Bible brings out, trusting in spiritual values is the most substantial investment. There can be no better investment than to trust irrevocably in the spiritual truths of Jesus' teachings. His words and works are invaluable guides in showing us how to demonstrate immortal Life, God. The more we utilize the spiritual truths his lifework brought to light, the more we realize what an unlimited treasure we have in God's goodness. And it is His divine goodness that will always supply our needs, now and in the future.
