The atmosphere we can take with us
Instead of sometimes moving into an unpleasant or menacing mental atmosphere and believing we can do nothing about it, we can take a sound atmosphere with us wherever we go.
Whether we do or not depends very much on just how we see atmosphere. If we view it just as a mental climate set up by a group of humans, then maybe we'll simply accept the belief that atmospheres are often bad, rarely good. Atmosphere, spiritually seen, is always good. "Pure Mind gives out an atmosphere that heals and saves," Miscellaneous Writings, p. 260. Mrs. Eddy writes.
We can begin proving through Christian Science that this atmosphere is as present as is Mind. Man, Mind's idea, lives in Mind, where there is no discomforting, hard-to-be-in, tainting atmosphere. We take the healing atmosphere of Mind with us to the extent that we are conscious of Mind and let that consciousness direct our living. Gaining a more spiritual sense of things doesn't mean it is irrelevant whether we indulge in materialistic environments. In fact, we will move into new situations that evidence more of the presence of Mind; or we will bring a spiritualizing presence to situations needing it.
