Why not shine "as the morning"?
Recent years have seen great changes in the world's thought about age. If an elderly person says, "I regret I didn't get a college education," the comment may be, "Why don't you get one now?"
With evening courses, daytime extension courses, TV colleges, and courses by mail abounding, many persons of advancing years are taking advantage of these opportunities.
I remember reading of one such student, a grandmother, who came to public notice recently. Her grades and campus activities qualified her to be named valedictorian of her university class. When she gave the valedictory address at the graduation ceremony, her Ph.D. son, her young grandson, and a newspaper reporter were in the audience. After the applause died down, the newsman asked the youth what he thought of his grandmother getting a degree.
