Life is not frail
Sometimes the vicissitudes of human existence would have us believe that life is a fragile thing, subject to debilitating whims of accident, disease, or passing years. But the Science of Christ reveals the spiritual fact that man's life is actually mighty and irrepressible.
Man's true life reflects the one divine Life, God; man's being is spiritual, unlimited, whole, pure, immortal. As we grow in our understanding of man's relation to God and as we put into practice what we are learning of this divine reality, we can feel our lives more and more invigorated, refreshed, strengthened, uplifted, and protected by Christ, Truth. We can gain increasing freedom from sickness, injury, and the insidious lie of inevitable decrepitude.
In his letter to the Colossians, Paul writes, "Your life is hid with Christ in God." Col. 3:3. And in another of Paul's great epistles we read of the necessity to follow in the way of Christ Jesus, not centering our affections and desires on materiality but loving God supremely and living according to spiritual law. This is in the eighth chapter of Paul's Epistle to the Romans, and here in verse 2 he declares, "For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death."
