No complaint!
One of today's main diseases is complaining. Some people even believe that the quickest contact with a stranger is through shared complaint! Children find fault with parents and vice versa; the subordinate with his boss, the customer with the salesperson or craftsman, and vice versa. And almost everyone complains of the anonymous "they," which includes society, government, fate, and so on.
From the human point of view, our grievances may often seem justified. But the Science of Christ is not superficial. Pilate's question to Jesus is echoed by the student of this Science who asks, "What is truth?" We should aspire to say with Christ Jesus, "To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth." John 18:37, 38. Testifying to truth includes regarding all complications—whether quite unimportant trifles or huge problems—as a test of our truthfulness and faithfulness.
According to the allegory in which Adam and Eve are expelled from Eden, the Bible depicts God as saying to Adam: "In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread." Gen. 3: 19. Everyday troubles often make our lives difficult. If we want to find the right standpoint for dealing with these, we have to retreat from the belief in matter and turn to the understanding of Spirit. The real man dwells in Spirit. And so that is where we, in reality, dwell. Only when we realize this will we know that using merely human means will not bring genuine solutions to our problems.
