Joy and peace—"fruit of the Spirit"
The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Galatians 5:22, 23
The study and practice of Christian Science surely should bring deep, lasting joy and establish heartfelt peace. Such is the very essence of its promise for mankind. This doesn't mean we have somehow failed if our progress is not entirely free of struggles. Quite the contrary, for working out one's salvation is work. But it is holy work; and when we begin to catch glimpses of the true purpose of Christian Science—to comfort, to redeem, to heal, and all this for the glory of God—we begin also to feel tangibly, unmistakably, the liberating harmony and blessedness that divine Love ever pours into our lives.
