God's thoughts heal mortal discords

Bible teachings make it apparent that we know God by learning the true nature and way of His thoughts. In Psalms we're told that God's thoughts directed toward His people are "more than can be numbered" and that the divine thoughts are "precious" and "very deep." Ps. 40:5; 139:17; 92:5. Our heavenly Father-Mother's regard for His children is by no means casual, but thoroughly caring and conducive to our spiritual advancement and well-being.

In Isaiah a comparison is drawn between Deity's thoughts and human ones. "My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." Isa. 55:8, 9. Following through on this scriptural point, Mrs. Eddy writes in Science and Health: "God's thoughts are perfect and eternal, are substance and Life. Material and temporal thoughts are human, involving error, and since God, Spirit, is the only cause, they lack a divine cause." Science and Health, p. 286.

From biblical descriptions of God's being, we take it that His thoughts are divine; and that He is Love, supreme Truth, incorruptible Spirit, all-powerful Life, harmonious Soul. His thoughts convince us of spiritual facts such as these: that our real being is formed by Spirit, not matter; that our actual, spiritual nature is the likeness of divine Truth and Love; that real health is our individual reflection of God's harmony, not dependent on flesh; that everything worth having comes of understanding God to be the source of all real good.
