For Christmas my brother gave me a very special Swiss Army knife that I treasure. During winter break from school I went to a reservoir to fish with a friend. At the end of the day, as I was using the scissors that are on my knife, the knife slipped out of my hands. It dropped into the water, which was thirteen to twenty feet deep and pitch-black.

When we reached a phone, I called my mom at home and told her what had happened. She said she would come down, and then she shared some truths, including this statement (Luke 1:37): "With God nothing shall be impossible." My mom also reminded me of the Bible story of how Elisha's servant lost the ax head in the water. Elisha threw a stick in the water and the ax head floated to the surface [see II Kings 6:5, 6]. I was also grateful for the love my best friend was showing me, because he was searching with his fishing pole for my knife.

When my mom arrived we told the park ranger about the knife. The ranger said it was probably impossible to get it back, since the water was so deep and there was silt at the bottom. But I went searching for the knife with many hooks and lots of praying. Later I did snag the knife. A very nice man, who had been watching me bring up twigs, fishing line, and other things, said, "Sure enough you got it!" The second thing he said was, "Someone up there must love you!" All my mom could say was, "Wow! Wow! Wow!"
