As third in a line of five generations of students of Christian Science, it is imperative that I stop and give thanks for the inspired dedication of the Founder of Christian Science, Mrs. Eddy. The teachings of this Science have now been uplifting mankind for over a hundred years. That the practice of spiritually scientific truths brings positive and healing results, I can truly attest, with pleasure.
It has been my experience that true healing involves the purification and regeneration of thought. One of many cases in point occurred recently when I sustained a painful injury. My husband and I were restoring an old house, and we opened a six-foot hole to afford us crawl space beneath. Upon completion of the necessary work in the crawl space, I put down loose linoleum to temporarily cover the opening. A few minutes later I thoughtlessly started back to the project, forgetting about the six-foot hole. I fell down the opening sideways. As I was falling I said aloud, "God is my Life, good," and I was really cherishing that fact. It's a good thing, as the immediate distress in my whole body seemed almost more than I could bear. I also clung as well as I could to the truth that my loving Father-Mother God was right there, upholding me.
