I have been raised in Christian Science and have experienced numerous healings. These include gaining freedom from lack of confidence in doing my schoolwork. When I was in high school the counselors said I wouldn't do well in college. Also, financing seemed impossible. However, I went ahead and enrolled in college, and funding was found year by year. I was able to graduate with honors.

I have also had healings of flu, migraine headaches, relationship difficulties, bruised ligaments, and severe stomachaches, to name a few. Because of the truths of Christian Science, which I work with daily, I have kept physically active and accident-free. People have said that I'm lucky, but I do not believe in luck or chance. I know, as we're taught in Christian Science, that God is good and gives only good to His children.

For several years I longed for a special purpose in life, a type of employment that was not just a job but a lifetime commitment. After finishing college I held several jobs as a teacher and interpreter for the deaf, thinking this must be it, my purpose, my niche in life. Then I moved from the East Coast to Chicago and got married. The teaching work suddenly dropped off, and I was forced to take a job in a hotel.
