Entering into the joy of healing
What joy a spiritual healing brings! But couldn't we—and shouldn't we, if we're seeking divine healing—also consider what spiritual healing joy brings.
Spiritually understood, joy is more than a goal. It's a harbinger of Truth's presence, an invincible reality. Joy is an irrepressible vitality, divinely sustained. Spiritual man—including the true individuality of each of us—reflects God as His likeness and expresses highest, holiest joy.
Christ Jesus, exemplifying true manhood, expressed spiritual joy. Is it a mere coincidence that he also was certain of healing authority? Although the events of his life identified him as the "man of sorrows" prophesied in Isaiah (see 53:3), the Master made clear his own true nature, his Christliness, when he summed up his profound and glorious teachings to his disciples before his crucifixion. He said, "These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full." John 15:11.
